What this stage is for

A go-live decision should be made by the right accountable person, on evidence, and be defensible later. Tell the people who will meet the system what it is and how to reach a human. Make sure human oversight is real: people with the time, information and authority to override.

Who is involved

Executive sponsor, Product owner, AI governance lead, Legal, HR (for staff notices).

Common mistakes

  • A human 'in the loop' who has no time or authority to disagree.
  • Notices buried in terms and conditions.
  • Approving on a verbal assurance with nothing recorded.

You're done when…

  • An approval record exists with conditions.
  • Notices are live where people meet the system.
  • Overseers are named, trained and can stop the system.
